As a freelancer, my writing and my time are services that I sell in order to earn an income.

My opinion, however, is not for sale.

When I say that I like something, I really do.

There’s nothing shady or unethical going on here. Yes, I attend media events and get samples. That's research; I'm looking for what I think will make compelling stories. When I write, my thoughts are driven by my own brain.
